The Malaysians Airlines Flight 370 went missing on 8th April, less than an hour after it's takeoff from Kuala Lumpur. The passengers of the ill fated airplane never made it to their destination, Beijing. The tragedy has been repeated, This time it is the
"Malaysia Airlines has lost contact of MH17 from Amsterdam. The last known position was over Ukrainian airspace."The Malaysia Airlines tweeted.
The airplane is reported to have crashed on Ukrainian soil at Torez, 25 miles from the Russian Border. Ukraine's interior ministry and Russian news agencies are confident that the airplane was shot down. The pro-Russian separatist rebels, "Lugansk People Republic" announced that they had shot down a "Ukrainian transport plane". The Ukrainian authorities had previously closed the above mentioned airspace on July 8th when a military plane was shot down at 20,000 feet. Apparently, reopening the airspace seems to have been a horrible mistake, the MH17 was shot down at 10,000 feet. Ukrainian authorities have done well to throw the blame at the Russians, they have alleged that the rebels used a Russian made surface to air missile to shoot down the ill fated airplane and Russia supplies arms to the rebels.
"We didn't do it," this is all that the Russian Ambassador to UN had to say. What a thing to say. Lives have been lost and the Russians and Ukrainians are still throwing stones at each other, wow!
When the MH370 went missing, the families of the deceased had to wait for an year hoping of some faint good news. This time the friends and family of the 295 deceased won't have to go through the agony of waiting every day for some news, if that makes any difference though, what's lost is lost. The United Nations was quick to throw the blame on Hamas in the ongoing Israeli carnage (Read the story here), but it is surprisingly silent now. I expect a statement similar to this one from the Secretary General:
"Once again, Palestinians are caught in between Hamas's irresponsibility and Israel's tough response."
Just a few words will have to be replaced.
295 lives have been lost in an instant, name it as being caught in the crossfire too, but what has the United Nations done? It has so far failed to ease tensions in Ghaza, what will it do now? The rebels claim to have shot a "Ukrainian transport plane", the Russian and the Ukrainian news agencies have also claimed the plane to be shot, will the UN write off these deaths as crossfire fatalities too? The UN needs to step up and exert pressure on the warring sides or it'll be soon history like the League of Nations.
Also, it is worth mentioning that Malaysia is ranked as the 9th most visited country in the world. Twice has a Malaysian airplane crashed, is it a mere coincidence? Or are there certain countries wanting to drive people away from Malaysia? Countries have deliberately shot down passenger planes in the past, they can do it again.
Sorry if you find this too biased, but we're all losing humanity. Do leave your views in the comments section. No pictures have been released on the internet yet, so I can't share any.
